Tour program

Departure from your hotel by GT coach for a pleasant journey to Taurasi, the capital of Campania red wine, set in the green Irpinia, the Campania countryside, comparable to Chianti shine in Tuscany. You will be welcomed in one of the most spectacular wineries in Campania: walking astonished between tens of thousands of bottles arranged in recesses extracted from the stones walls and wine oaks. The owner founded his company pushed by an irrepressible desire to give voice to the history and traditions of his loved Taurasi. The distinctive trait of his spectacular winery is soon clear walking by the numerous fascinating small tunnels: it is not just a place in which barrels, bottles and vats are stored but a real museum of the viticulture. In every corner, on each wall and in the multiples recesses obtained from the stones walls, it is possible to see typical tools and utensils used by the winemakers. Together with the tools and the barrels, you can find a variety of wood, glass and stone artworks, some realized by the owner himself and some others given as a gift by artist friends. They make the atmosphere even more evocative. After vineyard and cellar visit with wine tasting, you are invited in the company Agriturismo for a light lunch with local specialties. After lunch free to explore Taurasi ancient town centre, including the well preserved castle, headquarters of the Campania Region Winehouse. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Please be at the departure point at least 5 minutes prior to the pick-up time.
Please find below a list of things we would suggest taking with you:
– Flat comfortable shoes for walking;
– Sun cream, bottle of water, umbrella and/or jumper;
– Camera;
– Money for extras, optional meals and entrance fees (not included);
– Passports in order to get free admittance to State Museums / Excavations (see below).

Clients under 18 are entitled to free admission to State archaeological sites and museums upon production of a valid identity document. From 18 to 25 years upon production of a valid identity document 50% discount on entrance fees. No discounts for Seniors over 65.
On the first Sunday of each month: Free admission to all state sites and museums.
