Full day excursion that will allow you to visit both Pompeii and Herculaneum. We will start spending two hours in Pompeii visiting the main highlights of the site moving later to Herculaneum. Probably not everybody knows that the preservation status of the two archaeological sites is different because while Pompeii was buried under a layer of ashes and lapilli Herculaneum was buried under a flood of mud and lava so it is important to visit both cities to completely understand the architecture of the old roman settlings. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon.
