Location and Surrounding Area. Villa Rosemary is located a short distance from the centre of the colourful little fishing village of Massa Lubrense, on the tip of the Sorrentine peninsula, pointing out towards Capri. A delightful little village, with views across the Gulf of Naples to Vesuvius and Ischia, it’s ideal for those who want to visit the Amalfi Coast without staying in the more crowded tourist destinations. Pizzerias and restaurants line its quaint harbour and, for those who enjoy hiking, there are over 100km of marked routes nearby, winding through olive and citrus groves to the thick pine forest beyond.
Massa Lubrense’s rocky shores aren’t ideal for swimming, but there are lots of beautiful beaches nearby. Just 7 km away is Nerano, a pebbly beach with sunbeds, umbrellas and bars. Its crystal clear waters make a great place for snorkelling along the rocky seabed. Or you can take a boat trip to the magical coves and inlets that form part of the Protected Marine Area of Punta Campanella, or to the world-renowned island of Capri (just 3 km away), or along the Amalfi Coast.
The famous towns of Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi are all within easy reach of Massa Lubrense and there’s a direct train that runs from Sorrento to Pompeii.
